An authentic two-story Japanese Trading House and two storehouses (Kura) of a successful 1800’s business along the main road of a small castle town. The expansive Japanese garden behind the house is being restored and will be completed in 2025 and is part of the national treasure designation for this location. Perfect for period scenes of all kinds with multiple rooms and Kura spaces that offer different looks to accommodate a multi-location shoot all in one place!
Some of the high-lights in this location
The massive wood beams that make up the second-floor roof structure of the main house, as well as the structure of the Kura shoot well as authentic Japanese architecture. Natural light from the surrounding doors that open to the outside can be used, as well as completely closed off to easily accommodate controlled lighting set-ups.

Sitting alongside a quiet road in this castle town with white shikkui (Japanese plaster) walls and tile roof, Nakashima house is perfect for many different style scenes.

Kura (Store House / Armory)
